Welcome to The Wanderlust Rose, a resource for travel jobs, epic adventures and photos to fuel your wanderlust! My name is Emily Rose and as a dedicated traveler, I’m on a journey to see as much of the world as possible. Sometimes solo, sometimes with friends and sometimes working around the world.
I’m a born and raised Minnesota girl, who always dreamed of traveling the world. After attending Minnesota State, Mankato and receiving my BFA in musical theater, I worked professionally as an actress in the Midwest. Always thinking “someday” I would get to travel the world.
Finally I had decided I’d waited long enough. My passport had almost expired and I hadn’t even used it! So I embarked on a three week solo trip to Europe with just my backpack and a very tight budget.
At the end of the month, I came home to Minnesota without a doubt that I wanted to see the rest of the world, whatever it would take! I began hunting and searching for jobs in different countries and volunteer opportunities abroad. One month later (after relentless searching!) I was being flown to Mexico to work for a spring break travel company as a destination guide in Cancun. After one glorious month working in Mexico, I was hooked! There were two months left on my lease in Minnesota, so I went back home to save and apply for travel jobs the coming year.
AS OF JUNE 1ST, 2018 I OFFICIALLY BECAME A NOMAD!
No home to tie me down and free to live, work and travel anywhere in the world! I began in Indonesia where I spent a month backpacking, sailing and taking a travel blogging course with other like minded ladies.
From there I traveled all around Italy. then went to work for Oktoberfest in Germany. Fast forward a few months and I’ve been to 30 countries and counting! Just working travel jobs as I go and traveling on my own between contracts.
