Antarctica Ship Tour:

MS Ocean Endeavour with Intrepid Travel

I’ve gotten so many questions about how I got to Antarctica, where did we sleep, how did travel around…. So I wanted to put together a video showcasing our ship!

I flew down to Ushuaia, Argentina. The southernmost tip of the South American continent. From there, I boarded Intrepid’s Ocean Endeavour.

You can watch a full tour of the ship in my Tiktok here:

It took 2 days of full sailing through the Drake Passage to finally arrive at the first islands of Antarctica. We spent a day on the outer islands before landing on the actual mainland continent.

Once we arrived, we spent every night on the ship. (Except for those who chose to do the optional add-on of ice camping for one night.)

Each day we would take zodiac boats to shore after passing our bio security check. There are very strict rules on the continent to protect it, which I loved to see. Absolutely no eating or drinking anything except water. (To prevent invasive species or littering) No place to use the bathroom on the continent. All leave no trace principles followed to the extreme etc.

I loved that Intrepid was so avid about protecting this wild and vast wilderness.

One difficulty of traveling Antarctica is of course, the weather. The itinerary can never be guaranteed. Not just on the Ocean Endeavour but any ship!

You very well may not be able to do the polar plunge or ice camping due to extreme conditions.

Even as the day progressed, the itinerary would be constantly changing to adjust to the weather.

But wow, what an adventure it was.
