Viñales Valley in Cuba
Viñales Valley in Cuba –
11 Places You Can’t Miss
My recent trip to Cuba with Cuban Adventures was truly unforgettable. Over the past 4 years of my blogging career, I’ve partnered with a lot of different travel companies and gone on trips with a wide variety of tour operators.
But I have to say, Cuban Adventures is one of the best! And of all the places we went to in Cuba, Viñales totally stole my heart.
So here are 11 places you can’t miss during your trip to Viñales!
This list is compiled with the help of our amazing local Cuban guide, Karell!

1. Dinner & sunset at the ecological farm: Finca Agroecológica El Paraiso
This organic dinner overlooking the farm at sunset was a real highlight of our entire trip. Not only is the staff great and the food delicious, the views are so spectacular!

2. Take a stroll through the scenic Viñales Valley
It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and simply breathtaking. You’ll see tobacco farms, flowers galore, animals everywhere and huge limestone cliffs.
3. Lunch at Balcón del Valle for sweeping views over the valley while you eat
This lunch spot needs to be on your list of must-sees in Viñales. Great food, delicious drinks and unbeatable views!
4. Have a coffee at the charming Cafe del Mojito
This cute little cafe is so “Instagrammable”, it had to make the list!
Stop by for a cold drink on a hot day.
5. Visit a tobacco farm to see how Cuban cigars are made
A day trip to a tobacco farm is a must! It’s fascinating to see how the farmers live and grow the tobacco crops by hand and without any chemicals.
You can book a day tour with Havana Day Tours or it’s included in the itinerary I did with Cuban Adventures.

6. Sip daiquiris at Tres Jotas or the 3 J’s
Easily the best place in town for a daiquiri!
These towering frozen drinks are only $3 USD and located right on the main drag of town.
7. Stay at a casa particular with a local family
We stayed at Casa Isabelita but any of the casa particulars (local homestays) are a great option in Viñales! The town is super small and you can easily walk anywhere.
I urge you to use casa particulars throughout your trip instead of hotels. The economic situation in Cuba is really dire and when you stay with a host family, the money goes to the people directly. It’s an easy way to support the locals during a difficult period. The casa particulars are all held to a higher standard than regular Cuban homes so you’ll always have a nice bathroom, air conditioning, breakfast included etc.
8. Try unique fruits from a roadside stand
While in Viñales, we had fun trying fruits we don’t have access to at home! Another easy way to support the Cuban people is to shop locally at roadship stands or shops.
9. Drink fresh coconuts at Cafeteria La Complaciente
After our tour of the tobacco farm, we cooled down with fresh coconuts from Cafeteria La Complaciente. This place is adorable, check out the video to see this place.
There were also plenty of loveable pups hanging around, an added perk!
Location: Valle El Palmarito, Vinales 22400 Cuba
10. Explore the small downtown including the main square and cathedral
Grab your camera and head to the central part of town! The cathedrald and main square are lovely and make for an awesome spot to take pictures.
11. Take in views next to hotel Los Jazmines
I would definitely recommend you stay at casa particulars during your trip to Cuba. But on your way out of town, it’s worth stopping at the view point over the valley at hotel Los Jazmines.
Address: CARRETERA A VIÑALES, KM23, Cuba
