And as the name suggests,<em><strong> it is magnetic<\/strong><\/em>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:18px\">If you bring a compass, you can actually test the magnetism of the rock. Normally the needle in the compass points north but if you place it near the rock, it will spin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:18px\">It all sounds so science fiction&#8230; a giant magnet rock sticking out of the earth that is literally as tall as a house, I love it! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:18px\">And best of all? It&#8217;s not a crowded trail. When I hiked it, no one else was around. There are also bears and moose who call the Gunflint Trail their home. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:18px\">While we didn&#8217;t see bears while hiking Magnetic Rock, we did see bears from our
